To prepare yourself, and your building, we’ve compiled our best tips to get ahead of the monsoon season in Arizona.
Gutters & Downspouts
Make sure to inspect your gutters and downspouts at least once a year but preferably bi-annually. This will keep them clear and free to do their job. It’s best to do this in the late fall and spring seasons to avoid buildup of leaves and other debris that could create blockages.
Check Your Surroundings
Metal buildings are reliable, fire-resistant, and if struck by lighting are likely to suffer less damage than a wood-framed structure. This is because steel acts as a conductor allowing the lightning to pass through the building back to the earth safely. With that said, it is important to check your surrounding area for exposed wires. As an added precaution, inspect trees in the area around your building and trim them before monsoon season.
Insulation
If you are still in the planning process and on the fence, we highly suggest a second look at insulating your metal building. There are many reasons to insulate your building even in sunny Arizona. Closures & Screws
Old, worn screws and bolts are often the common culprit to leaks on a metal building. Performing an inspection can help eliminate leaks this monsoon season.
